Kitchens cooking up magic!

Unassuming yet one of the most essential parts of the house, a kitchen is where we spend a major part of the day during the time we spend at home and special attention should be given to it while home interior decorating. Thus, it is important to set up this small but important room in such a way that working here becomes a pleasure and not a long and tiring process. Before embarking on planning the home d?cor of your kitchen, it is best to decide for yourself the activities that you would be carrying on here. A number of families today prefer to define kitchen in a completely new way, removing the notion from the shackles that it had existed within for so long. Today, the kitchen has reinvented itself to indicate not just a room for cooking but also a place where the family can assemble together for meals as well as a place for an informal gossip session with friends.

Thus, it is advisable to put in a lot of thought before planning and organizing your kitchen. The best place to start from is the sink. Make sure that the sink is constructed in a place, which has proper drainage facilities and is close to the window as natural light and air is important in the maintenance of proper hygiene and home d?cor. After you have decided on the positioning of the sink, it is now time to concentrate on the rest of the kitchen. The area that is covered by the sink, the refrigerator and the actual cooking area is called the work triangle. This triangle is the base of the entire kitchen and is the part of the kitchen where most of the activities are carried out. Thus, the most important point of concentration is this work triangle and one should keep in mind that the area covered by this triangle should be neither too large nor too small. If the area covered by the work triangle is too large then, working in the kitchen can become too laborious and time consuming.

Again on the other hand if the area governed by the work triangle while home interior decorating is too small the entire kitchen can get messy due to shortage of space. It is advisable to keep the size of your work triangle. After you have planned out the basic structure of your kitchen and home d?cor, you can now concentrate on the flooring materials as well the construction of the work counters and cabinets. Storage is extremely important in a kitchen and one should have enough storage cabinets customized to fit in almost all the different things that the modern kitchen should be equipped with. Plan the kitchen surfaces keeping in mind that they need to be water and fire proof as well as the fact that they should be constructed with materials that help in easy cleaning of the surface areas. With a bit of innovative planning, one can easily design a kitchen that is both practical and cheerful, a place that will fit in perfectly with everything else in your dream home!
